Andrea Howard began her culinary journey more than 25 years ago as a child experimenting in the family kitchen. Her formal experience came years later while working in various restaurants and therein learning the fundamentals of the culinary world. Throughout her adult life, Andrea has spent her evenings and weekends catering events and entertaining friends and family. In 2000, she began freelancing as a pastry chef making custom cakes for countless occasions. Still, she maintained a career in the corporate world where she worked in a variety of management positions. In the spring of 2008, Andrea chose to follow her true passion, launching her cake design business - Andrea Howard Cakes. Since then, Andrea has created thousands of wedding cakes across Oklahoma and Texas.
Thank you for stopping by my website! In addition to my passion for the culinary arts, there are several loves in my life. Of course, my family is at the very top of the list! I am the mother to four children: ages 24, 23, 14, and 13 - truly the most fun element in my life.
I have spent nearly three decades exploring new methods in my kitchen and received many requests to take my recipes to a full-time venture; I obliged and chose to launch my couture cake company. I truly feel called to my work - I look forward to each cake consultation with anticipation of turning the confectionary dreams of my client into a reality.
Balancing my love of food (thankfully) is fervor for long-distance sports, particularly cycling. My first memory of serious biking began at the age of 13 during a family vacation that consisted of riding the beautiful Mackinac Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From there, I continued on and in 2006 completed a 350-mile ride. In early 2008, I made my first attempt at running and participated in the Houston Half-Marathon (13.1 miles!) in Houston, Texas and completed my second half marathon in 2015 for the Oklahoma City Memorial Run. Presently, my knees only oblige habitual 10k runs, but still hold steady for long distance bike rides.
When you buy from a family business, you are helping a little boy get his baseball jersey, a mom put food on the table, and a family pay a mortgage. Our customers are our shareholders and they are the ones we strive to make happy. Our family would like to THANK YOU for supporting our small business!
